How to install preset in Adobe Lightroom - Kenji's ShotBook - Lukáš Kenji Vrábel

Occasionally, after buying a preset at gumroad.com/kenjisshotbook, someone asks me how to install the preset. So let's explain it in a few simple steps :) Just for clarification - My presets available at gumroad.com are in the format for the latest Adobe Lightroom CC (xmp extension). If you want to use presets in older versions of Adobe Lightroom (eg 5 or 6), you need to first import presets into Lightroom CC, apply the preset to a photo and then put File / Export with Preset / Export to DNG. In the old Lightroom, you then import the DNG with a preset and save the preset (the lrtemplate file extension).

EDIT: If you don't like to read, there is a video tutorial at the end of the page! But only in czech language.

1. Start Adobe Lightroom

2. Switch to the Develop tab

3. In the "Presets" block on the left, click the + symbol and select Import Presets

4. Locate the presets stored on your computer (it may even be a compressed ZIP file, Lightroom will import all the presets it contains). Double-click presets to install in Adobe Lightroom.

5. After installation, the presets appear in a new folder in the Presets block. Click on the preset to apply it to the photo. Every preset needs to be fine-tuned for each photograph so that the result is perfect.

I hope this quick guide will help you. If you have trouble installing presets purchased at gumroad.com/kenjisshotbook, don't be afraid to contact me and we will break it down :)
