Recently I was approached by my good friends Marek and Michal Řezáč, who are actually representatives of Gordic, a company that deals with cyber security and IT and other things I do not understand at all. The guys needed to make a lighter version of business portraits in an interview for CzechCrunch. So we did a series of portraits where I basically worked with the guys just like with people, for example in a wedding, family or couple photo shoot - a lot of fun. Photos were taken that are not stiff and do not have the corporate feeling that is common in business portraits.
We lit one main flash light from the right with a 120cm octabox. The other light was a low-intensity flash from the left to illuminate the shadows with a rectangular softbox. In post-production, I simply used my Lightroom preset IronStar, which is great for darker studio photos. Only one pimple on the face of one of the boys was retouched, and the edge of the background was retouched in the photos where the boys together did not fit in front of the canvas. I didn't do any other retouching to let the photos look as natural and clear as possible.
