When it comes to choosing a place for portrait photography session, whether it is a couple, pregnancy or family photography session with children, I always recommend leaving the choice either to me or to follow the next few steps.

1. Choose a place that has some value for you

Whether it's your favorite tree you kissed for the first time, or the rock you climbed together for the first time. It's always a good idea to think first about whether you have a place that has a deeper value for you and where portrait photos could look great. And when it's too far away from your city? Doesn't matter. It's not a problem to plan a trip together (or a holiday in Bali?).

2. Look west

The most beautiful light for portrait photography not only in summer is of course at sunset. When you think of a specific place, think about whether the view is to the west. This is the only way to capture the beautiful setting sun, which will properly enliven your portrait photographs.

3. Ask your friends

You will surely find someone among your friends who traveled the areas around your city, and who came across a secret quarry like from a fairy tale (see the gallery with Nikola and David below) during his walks. Then there is nothing easier than going to that place for portrait shoot.

4. Try the website kudyznudy.cz or similar

It doesn't hurt to use google sometimes. Try to find a nice place using the website kudyznudy.cz or other similar. The advantage is that there is a photo gallery on each place's page, so you can get an idea of what the resulting portrait photos will look like.

5. Rely on destiny

Sometimes it pays to just go blindly out of town (usually to the west - point 2). An abandoned road can sometimes hide treasures like a flowering meadow overlooking the sun-drenched hills.
